Awareness

Target USA CUP wants all participants and visitors to feel comfortable speaking up about their mental health. Get ready for signage all over campus, t-shirts, giveaways, and much more. Make sure to flag down our Speak Up Street Team on July 17th to get more information and free giveaways!

Education

Speak Up at Target USA CUP is partnering with US Center for Mental Health and Sport to provide our participants with the best possible resources on campus. Information on USC-MHS can be found by clicking here. Catch them on campus in the SuperStore on July 17th!

Community

Speak Up at Target USA CUP has invited local mental health organizations to take part in our initiative. Be prepared to see lots of other organizations doing their part in showing support of mental wellness in athletes. Find these organizations in front of the SuperStore on July 17th!

Why Speak Up?

In the U.S., 1 in 5 adults, 1 in 6 youth aged 6-17, and 1 in 3 young adults aged 18-25 experience a mental illness each year.

50% of all lifetime mental illness begins by age 14, 75% by age 24.

the average delay between onset of mental illness symptoms and treatment is 11 years.

Target USA CUP will be combining awareness, education, and our community, to create an overall perception that it is ok to not be ok. It is our goal to end the stigma of athletes being too tough to talk about their mental health.

Speak Up to your parents, Speak Up to your teammates, Speak Up to your coaches, and Speak Up at Target USA CUP.

You are not alone.
