Volunteer Groups Make USA CUP Happen

Volunteers are the backbone of Schwan’s USA CUP, and it couldn’t run without the hundreds of individuals that donate their time to the tournament.  Whether soccer is a lifelong passion or simply an afternoon pastime, large groups of volunteers are often what keep our tournament running the smoothest.

Thunder Bay Chill rides error-free defense to topple Swedish nemesis Rudbeckianska

Despite being nearly 4,000 miles apart, the Thunder Bay Chill from Thunder Bay, Canada, and Rudbeckianska from Västerås, Sweden have forged a rivalry at the National Sports Center (NSC) in Blaine, Minn. The two teams have done battle in two consecutive U19 championship games at the Schwan’s USA CUP weekend tournament, with Rudbeckianska emerging victorious 3-1 in 2016. This year, it was Thunder Bay’s turn to hoist the trophy.

USA CUP teams will head to Valleyfair on the off day

Schwan’s USA CUP teams competing in both the weekend and weeklong tournaments will have a day off from game action, giving teams an opportunity to seek out thrills and adventure throughout the Twin Cities. USA CUP players opting to head to Valleyfair Amusement Park will have the exciting opportunity to meet a professional soccer player while experiencing Valleyfair’s exhilarating attractions.
