A few legendary teams have made names for themselves at Schwan’s USA CUP throughout its 33 year history. One name in particular, however, stands out among the rest: Rudbeckianska. And that’s for more than just the 13 letter, five syllable long team name that’s almost as difficult to spell as it is to pronounce
The Schwan’s USA CUP is renowned as a cultural mixing pot for youth soccer, with teams hailing from 15 different countries meeting in Blaine, Minn. every July to build connections across country borders. Minnesota United FC (MNUFC) will add a dash of international flavor into its own professional schedule during USA CUP, with an international friendly match against Atlas FC of Liga MX, Mexico’s top soccer league.
Schwan’s USA CUP visitors will no doubt wonder what’s being built at the west end of the National Sports Center’s Main Parking Lot. The quick answer is that it’s a school. But of perhaps greater interest for USA CUP folks, it’s also the new USA CUP headquarters building.
As you approach the A3 and A4 fields, the new home for The Hub at Schwan’s USA CUP, you’ll notice an upbeat and relaxing energy in the air. Along with the classic favorites like sand soccer and inflatable fun comes a new addition to the tournament’s activity zone.
