More than 4,500 miles separate Blaine, Minnesota from the towering spires and flowing architecture of Barcelona, Spain, the famed epicenter of Catalonian soccer.
But as the lights dimmed Tuesday morning in the NSC classroom, the distance didn’t seem quite so great.
Schwan’s USA CUP, powered by Sport Ngin, hit another milestone tonight, as this year’s opening ceremonies filled NSC Stadium with music, memories and plenty of ice cream.
National Sports Center Director Paul Erickson, Sport Ngin CEO Justin Kaufenberg, Eastbay Brand Director Steve Horn and Schwan’s Jason Von Bank kicked off the event as USA CUP’s primary sponsors, before the parade officially got underway.
“USA Cup is a great opportunity to help raise funds and give the local cancer fighting organizations the opportunity for exposure and education to Schwan’s USA CUP participants, coaches and fans,” said Kara Radeke, USA Cup Director.
Media intern Ryan Lund was live tweeting from Opening Ceremonies tonight. We thought you'd like to read how the cermony unfolded in real time!
