With another successful Schwan’s USA CUP Weekend in the books, it’s time to start gearing up for this year’s USA CUP Opening Ceremonies.
This year's opening ceremonies gets underway at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
Located in NSC Stadium, USA CUP’s Olympic-style opening ceremonies feature the annual parade of teams, a tribute to the tournament’s new Kick Cancer initiative, as well the return of Rock the CUP, featuring Minnesota country music recording artist Jeremiah James Korfe.
The fun begins at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, but before the action gets underway in NSC Stadium, here are a few things to remember to make sure that your opening ceremonies experience is as fun as possible.
When should I arrive at opening ceremonies?
We ask that teams begin lining up on fields C1 and C2, located south of the NSC Stadium, at 6:45 p.m.
What should I wear?
Teams are encouraged to showcase their unique uniforms and cultural heritage during the tournament, should arrive wearing their team uniform, or any ethnic apparel that they feel would be appropriate for the celebration.
Should I bring a water bottle?
Absolutely. It will be hot on Tuesday night, and hydration will be important.
How long does opening ceremonies last?
The ceremony itself will run for about an hour, while Rock the CUP is set to run for an hour as well, and should conclude around 9:30 p.m.
Do I need a ticket?
Of course…not. Opening Ceremonies is a free event and open to the public. We encourage teams to invite their family and friends to check out the signature event of Schwan’s USA CUP, powered by Sport Ngin.
What if it rains?
Please remember to check the forecasts prior to opening ceremonies, and dress appropriately. The event will continue in the event of rain, but lightning and other, more serious weather conditions would cause the event to be cancelled. The logistics of opening ceremonies mean that they will not be rescheduled.
