Schwan’s USA CUP, presented by PUMA is an event that has grown throughout the years into something so much larger than just a soccer tournament.
When the event started in 1985 there were hopes that it would grow. With just 69 teams that first year who would have thought it would become the tournament it has? As we celebrate the 28th annual Schwan’s USA CUP, presented by PUMA, the tournament has grown to 958 teams with 22 states and 16 countries.
Each year, USA CUP brings hundreds of teams, thousands of players, coaches and fans who gain an incredible experience on and off the field. With events and activities planned to foster sportsmanship and gain experience as well as create long lasting friendships and memories for the players, USA CUP has turned into the meeting place for soccer fanatics around the world.
From player parties to Opening Ceremonies and beach soccer tournaments to Fruchi Faceoffs, Rock the CUP, Kick TV, articles in the Daily Kick, Schwan’s Sideline, the PUMA World Store, USA CUP Indoor there is something for everyone to enjoy. And by participating in these events and activities, the players have the opportunity to meet players from other countries, exchange ideas and gain life long friends.
Hundred of volunteers, full-time staff, members of the community, interns, referees and many more give their time to the tournament each year in hopes that they may make an impression on youth soccer participants and lend a hand in creating memories that land well outside the confines of the soccer field.
A great way to get involved is to enter our photography contest. By submitting photographs depicting a celebration of your goals from on and off the field, participants are able to document their excitement and share it with other USA CUP fans. The winners will be announced at the end of the tournament and will receive a fifty-dollar gift card from PUMA as well as a fifty-dollar gift card from Schwan’s. To enter the contest, visit our USA CUP Facebook page.
