Soccer tournament helps local economy despite recession

The numbers from this week's Schwan's USA Cup are staggering. 13,000 players. 841 teams. 1,500 games on 46 different fields. Teams from 12 different countries and 26 states. It is the largest soccer tournament in the Western Hemisphere.

From a humble start to over 800 teams, USA CUP is big

What started back in 1984 as a group of youth soccer players looking for a way to play in the largest soccer tournament in the world in Oslo, Norway, has exploded into what we now know as Schwan’s USA CUP.

Girls soccer: Wolfpack earns runner-up title at Schwan’s Cup

The Cottage Grove Wolfpack girls soccer team finished runner-up in the 2009 Schwan’s USA Cup Weekend Tournament in the 17-team, 19-and-under “A” Flight at the National Sports Center in Blaine.

Tottenham Hotspur Win U-16 PUMA v Elite

The Tottenham Hotspur U-16 did the expected but not without having to prove their worth. The team from London, England took the Schwans’s USA Cup Weekend PUMA v Elite competition with a record of 4-0-1.
