FEATURED TEAM: SURDEL STING

The U-11 SurDel Sting are extremely excited to be making their first appearance at Schwan's USA CUP in July. The Sting belong to the SurDel Girls Soccer Association which is based in North Delta, British Columbia, Canada. The club offers soccer to both competitive and recreational players from U6 to U18 to the municipalities of North Delta and Surrey, which are approximately thirty minutes east of Vancouver. Kevan Cornes, head coach of the Sting, will be making his third appearance and second as a coach to USA CUP. "The players have been working very hard this season and are very excited to be making the trip." The team has a very dedicated group of players, parents and supporters who have been fundraising with car washes, movie nights, bottle drives, etc. for many months now. "The players are all looking forward to coming to USA CUP and not only having some fun playing soccer but also meeting players from around the world and having a great life experience."

 

The Sting have just wrapped up their first season of competitive soccer and will be kept busy over the next several months with training and playing some exhibition games in advance of their departure. Win, lose or draw the Sting's hard work and sportsmanship on the field will be matched by the fun and exciting activities the tournament offers away from the field. The Sting are very proud to not only represent their club but also their province and country in this fantastic tournament.
